When FreeCAD Is Enough for Construction Work
FreeCAD works for parts and learning. For everyday consultant drawings, contractors often have three paths: FreeCAD, AutoCAD/LT, or browser CAD like BravoCAD.
FreeCAD is free CAD software. It is strong if you make 3D parts or want to learn CAD without paying. It is rarely the right only tool when everyday work means opening consultant drawings, making small fixes, and sending the file back.
The choice is also not only FreeCAD or AutoCAD. Many contractors have three practical paths.

BravoCAD is the middle path for many contractors: You work with the same DWG plans as consultants, but open them in the browser with maps and plan tools, instead of forcing FreeCAD into production DWG editing or buying an Autodesk seat for everyone who only revises plans.
